HISTORY OF THE ALLIANCE
Early 1990's
WEUHA is composed of representatives from Access Alliance Multi-Cultural Community Health Centre, Davenport-Perth Community Health Centre, Lakeshore Area Multi-Service Project (LAMP), Parkdale Community Health Centre, St. Joseph's Health Centre, Stonegate Community Health Centre, and The Four Villages Community Health Centre.
1997
WEUHA's first official Letter of Understanding and Terms of Reference are established
1999
Toronto Community Care Access Centre and Toronto Public Health become WEUHA members

- Highlighted in Toronto District Health Council Report, "Integration in Action: Lessons Learned from Networks in Toronto" (December, 1999)
- Development of criteria for acceptance of uninsured expecting mothers
- Maternal / newborn early discharge shared protocols
- Diabetes prevention program
- Diabetes education project
- Mental Health Community Resource Handbook
- Shared education sessions / workshops
REVITALIZATION PERIOD (2004 - 2005)
- An Executive Coordinator is hired to:
- Identify and develop priority action items and projects
- Coordinate and implement all administrative functions
- Assist in the development of network policies and procedures
- Support the work of the Issue Action Teams
- Oversee the financial management of WEUHA
- Support the development of report writing and grant submissions
- Oversee WEUHA communication strategies
CURRENT WEUHA DIRECTIONS (2006+)

The WEUHA membership continues to expand across the nine sectors
- WEUHA members take a leading role in engaging with the Toronto-Central LHIN

A WEUHA Endorsement Policy is created to guide WEUHA Advocacy initiatives
